Prostate problems

What is the prostate?

The prostate gland is about the same size as a walnut and lies just below the bladder. The tube through which urine passes from the bladder (the urethra) passes through it. The prostate gland’s job is to make a fluid, which forms part of the semen.

More information about the prostate can be found in B&BF's fact sheet entitled 'Your Prostate and You'.  You can view a copy here or if you prefer you can contact the office on 01536 533255 and we can post one to you.
